TRIZ-teaching process at Samsung

The Theory of Inventive Problem Solving is being actively developed at Samsung. In SAIT and VIP centers of SAMSUNG Electronics, TRIZ consulting groups are created for help in solving production problems. The practical use of TRIZ application is obvious.

TRIZ training courses are organized for SUMSUNG employees. N.Khomenko and other TRIZ consultants conducted some seminars in OTSM/TRIZ. The number of participants of those seminars was limited and such an effective tool as TRIZ remains inaccessible for most employees. It is necessary to ensure training in TRIZ for all comers.

It is expected that TRIZ training will be conducted in three stages at SAMSUNG.

The first stage: Acquiring initial problem-solving skills and theoretical basics of TRIZ.
Training with the use of the on-line training program TRIZ-Trainer and a group of consultants-teachers.
This stage gives initial skills in problem solving according to TRIZ, creates a basis for independent study of TRIZ, provides consultations of experienced teachers, as well as their practical advice in solving specific problems. At the first stage, it is necessary to assimilate the logic of the solution-building (exactly building, not searching) structure and to solidify these skills by solving a certain number of training problems).

The second stage: Solidifying the problem-solving skills and deepening the knowledge acquired at the first stage.
Students are trained at seminars conducted by an experienced teacher.
This stage improves the TRIZ knowledge acquired at the first stage, deepens the theoretical basics of TRIZ, ensures practice in solving training and real problems under the guidance of an experienced teacher.

The third stage. Practical training in solving production problems.
Solving real production problems together with a TRIZ-expert.
At this stage, students acquire practical skills of revealing and solving the problems of a real production situation; learn to make goal-seeking search for information in the work with the specialists of the customer team; acquire the skills of evaluating and selecting the best solution in a given situation. This stage provides a deeper insight into the problem-solving theory.

Having completed all the three training stages, each one can become an expert in TRIZ and solve problems of any complexity.
